Salmon fishing – Victoria, B.C. to Sooke, B.C.

Chinook salmon fishing picked up considerably in late August and so far in September. Fishing has been good in the usual hot spots between Pedder Bay and Sooke Harbour. Anchovie on a chartreuse teaser head behind a Gibbs Delta tackle Rasberry flasher has been deadly. The best depth’s have been between 45 and 65 feet.

Coho fishing was awesome this past weekend. Large Coho are now been caught and in good numbers. Although wild Coho cannot be retained, there are plenty of Hatchery Coho to be caught, the limit on Coho retention at this time in “Area 20″, is two Hatchery Coho per day per person. So far the Coho run is far stronger than what we experienced last season.
